About

Written for Jacob Taitel and David Grayling for the 2020 CoLab Concert at the University of Michigan.

I wrote this piece to address a harmful mindset that I had caught myself in over the course of a few months. The piece is about certain types of anxiety that come from unnecessarily assigning great importance to something. This only leading to unnecessary commitment therefore pursuit of unhealthy practice and obsession. This piece was my way of finding the difference between what I need and what I falsely thought I needed and I hope that others may find there way out of this same kind of rut. Certainly these ideas are no stranger to much of the music community and I was happy to have a way to create something out of it.
